May Flowers

There is a favorite month of mine....and it is here!! MAY!  I love May for many things... but one of my favorite parts of May is the perfect temperature, absence of mosquitoes, and my favorite flowers are blooming in their happiest way.

And with the flowers... love this quote from one of my favorite poets!

"And tis my faith that every flower enjoys the air it breathes." Wordsworth

And the flowers have to be secretly singing this month... .they all just look and smell so happy!

Right now, May 5, our yard is scented heavily with roses, honeysuckle... jasmine.... peonies!  So today, I just sat outside for a while.

I watched the dragonfly buzz around the yard, the bee buzz in the flowers, the chipmunk scurry around and the birds.. oh the birds, flutter and sing! I think all little creatures are really happy right now too!

A good break from watching the news and seeing what the latest of info may be..... is to
sit for a bit and listen to nature.  I think it does our heart, mind and soul good.
There is something about nature that causes us to breathe lighter, calmer,  yet happier.... and even when we are saddened by things around us.... all we have to do is watch a little chipmunk or see a pretty flower and our heart is lightened.

God gives us sooo much beauty around us... so much....

And I really want to have eyes that see it.... really see.  And I want my children to do the same. Because I think when we see and appreciate and are truly grateful for God's amazing creation... we are even more passionate to learn about it, love it and protect  and care for it.

And may we all be shining little twinkle lights in this we take time to sit in our yard for a bit and be a little like Ferdinand..... "just sitting quietly and smelling the flowers"... for it is in these times of simply loving springtime that we become stronger in being in the world around us and helping it and helping one another.

"What a desolate place would be a world without flowers.  It would be

a face without a smile, a feast without a welcome.
Are not flowers the stars of the earth?
And are not our stars the flowers of heaven?"
