37 years ago on this day, June 25, 1971, I was born in a little hospital in Washington, North Carolina. So fun to reflect on birthdays and to think about the past years and then to think about the present. So much has happened in life... have walked through hard things and walked through wonderful things as well. And my heart is full and overflowing with such gratitude on being the good ole age of 37.
This past spring, my mom gave me the card scrapbook she made from when I was born....it is very very special to me and I have loved looking through the pages ( have to slowly turn each page to keep it from tearing.. paper is very fragile) and seeing the beautiful cards that friends and family gave. So here is a little peek into this dear old scrapbook.
Card from my Grandma and Grandpa Maple... On my mom's side.
This special card is from my red headed grandmother who lived most of her life on a farm in Nebraska.
Love this duckie!
Love seeing all the fun 70 type designs!
Sign on door of hospital room.
And last, my favorite card. A little red head on a stork.... in all it's 70 style whimsy!
Already getting ideas from these fun little cards for paintings and designs. Definitely would call this scrapbook an inspirational one!
Think this year will be special.... one part ( a big part) that will hopefully happen is to bring home our little girl from Russia. We have been waiting and waiting and waiting.... actually have been in this process of adoption for 2 years now so patience has really been tried and I'm seeing how it is really a big key in love.... "Love is patient, love is kind...."
For every birthday year, I pick a Psalm that goes with my year. For this year... Psalm 37... " commit your way to the Lord and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn. The justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him."
Psalm 37: 3,4
"Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Those are several of my prayers for this year of my life.... Commit my way.. ( every way) to the Lord.....everything... trust in the Lord... delight myself in the Lord.
And so for my birthday wish... I wish for a little girl..... yep.. sweet and simple... that is
my hope ...
Happy day to all!
